Kane Facts on Twitter
For those interested in local politics, I suggest following Kane Facts on Twitter. I do not know the individual(s) behind Kane Facts, but he/she/they post some interesting and insightful tweets about Kane County politics.
In case you missed these items:
• Rick Nagel, editor at Batavia Patch, recently highlighted details of a written report Batavia Public Works Director Gary Holm submitted to the City Council in which Holm indicates the council might need to consider hiking electric rates to pay for costs related to Batavia’s investment in Prairie State Energy. Geneva also owns a stake in Prairie State Energy. Nagel’s post provides some valuable information for all consumers, particularly Batavia residents. I encourage readers to follow the link above to Nagel’s post. Batavia’s involvement with Prairie State is a complicated story that is likely to impact residents and business owners for years to come.
• Batavia resident Steven Kilberg recently purchased the 10 South Coffee House at the Batavia Public Library and renamed it Chapters Coffeehouse and Cafe, according to a report in the Kane County Chronicle. Kilberg told the Chronicle he plans to introduce new items, including some gluten-free products. The library is located at 10 S. Batavia Ave. in downtown Batavia.
